Into Employment- Online Employability Training

We are now offering a 6-week Employability course for people aged 25 and over in Wigtownshire!

Supported by Dumfries and Galloway Local Employability and Skills Partnership, our Stranraer team will be delivering applicants a structured online program of training in work-related skills to help prepare them for the next step towards employment.

This is a 6-week Employability course delivered online via Microsoft Teams for people in Wigtownshire who are aged 25+ and fall within the categories, unemployed parents, in-work poverty parents, people with additional support needs, people from protected characteristics groups, long-term unemployed.

There will be 2 sessions per week for 6 weeks starting on Wednesday 20th April. Sessions will run from 11 am to 12.30 pm on Wednesday and Friday mornings.  Applicants must have access to Microsoft Teams and either a PC, Laptop or Tablet.

During the course we will cover:

  • Why do people work
  • Changes that employment may bring
  • Workplace expectations
  • Completing Application forms
  • Writing a CV
  • Interview Skills
  • First day at work
  • Making a good impression
  • Talking and Listening Skills
  • Teamwork
