Better Lives Partnership (BLP) turned 6 years old today!
6 years ago, we became a registered SCIO, with the aim of delivering opportunities to support young people with Autism and additional barriers in Dumfries and Galloway. Since then, we have opened 3 sites across Dumfries and Galloway.
Our pilot Bridge to Employment (B2E) Programme was launched in September 2017 with 5 young people and 5 members of staff. Since then, we have opened a second location in Stranraer for young people in Wigtownshire in January 2020 and after
since our fifth birthday last year, we have opened a third project in Dumfries.
Regarding the milestone Carolyn Kennedy, Chief Executive Officer, said:
“Since last year we have also started offering an accredited environment course, supported by The Holywood Trust’s DG Youth Protecting Our Planet grant, and have offered our young people in Dumfries and Castle Douglas a 6-week pilot digital development course in partnership with Battlestations, Lochmaben. We are also delighted to announce that #TeamStranraer have been shortlisted as Educator of the Year at the Awarding Wigtownshire Awards, and we wish them the best of luck on the evening of the Awards!”

To date, we are supporting over 70 young people through our programme. We would like to say a huge thank you to our amazing team, our wonderful young people and to everyone who has supported BLP over the last year.
