We are delighted to announce that thanks to the support provided by the Galloway Glens Landscape Partnership we can bring on a second social media intern.

Thomas McClure has recently come on board the Better Lives Partnership team as our new Social Media Intern. We are excited to have him with us and we’re looking forward to his work. We asked Thomas to introduce himself so you all can get to know him better.

I’m excited to embark on this journey with Better Lives Partnership, to learn about the team and everyone involved, and to help provide opportunities for people to experience the best life can offer.

I am twenty-two years old, and I’ve been living in Castle Douglas most of my life. I’ve recently completed a Creative Writing course at the University of Glasgow, and before that, I completed two courses in Childcare and Childhood Practice at Dumfries and Galloway College. Growing up in the age of the internet, I know social media like the back of my hand and I’m very excited to be working in such digital spaces. I’ve always been creative and outspoken, from writing short stories on my website to producing big project videos on my YouTube channel, and I’m always up for the next challenge. I think that working with the Better Lives Partnership will be a valuable experience for me and I feel confident in my role here. I’ve already been taught so much and met so many brilliant people and I’ve only just begun.

I would also like to extend my thanks to the Galloway Glens for supporting my start at BLP.

I’m looking forward to working with the Better Lives Partnership team and working on the social media accounts. Keep an eye out for the posts this week, some of them may be posted by me!
