We have been collaborating with artists to present accessible art lessons online!
The Better Lives Partnership has been working with our resident artist, mentor, and educator, Bea Last, to create an online art community which provides accessible videos to enable the exploration of different art practices.
Each artist has made two videos, and each video is a self-contained art lesson which is accessible to those with little or no experience in the subject matter. There are clear instructions to go along with pictures, as well as closed captions on the videos. These videos are available on the Better Lives YouTube Channel and you can find them here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTuJPuKOcquFlf2FTmmzsOQ/videos
If you would like to be a part of our online art community, you can join our dedicated team site here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc8WHB8WdKvb7zCKhPPOAXs3dorFkyZZk5DHOQahkY3WB8bDA/viewform
And if you would like to pick up an art pack to provide you with materials that will be used in the videos, you can do so in the application. Packs can be picked up from our Dumfries, Castle Douglas, and Stranraer sites, or if you request it we can have them posted out to you.
This project was funded by Dumfries and Galloway Council through the Regional Art Fund.
